Welcome to The Compass Reader! A travel and lifestyle blog in which I share my passions about traveling, photography, books and foods. I hope to inspire you to new ideas and to see more of this world.
I’m Dominique, a 25-year-old girl who graduated in International Management and right now there are so many options what I should or could do. So what exactly have I been doing since I graduated? I followed my dream to discover more of the world and went on a 5 months’ journey to the other side of the world. Over the years I travelled to all sorts of different countries such as Canada, United States, South-Africa, Sri Lanka, Russia, Morocco and a lot of countries in Europe. My latest additions to my travel list are Australia, New-Zealand, Indonesia and the Philippines.
So where am I when I am not travelling?
Amsterdam! For six years I have been able to call this beautiful city my home and it still doesn’t bore me. In this city I do the things I am passionate about:
- Discovering new cafes and restaurants
- Watching too many shows and movies
- Planning trips to new places and countries
Why did I start this blog?
I have noticed that a lot of people ask me the same questions about the places that I visited. ‘Where should I stay, where should I go for food and what are the highlights of your trip.’ As I love to travel I love to share my stories and experiences with as many people as possible. This sounds cliché as most of the travel bloggers want to share their experiences, but still it is one of the reasons that I started this blog. Other reasons? I noticed that I love to write, but I never did anything with this passion. This blog also keeps my own travel memories and feelings alive as I keep to relive a lot of amazing times!
I hope that The Compass Reader will be your endless source of inspiration and motivation to follow your travel dreams and see more of this beautiful world!
