Liverpool is a well-known City in the North West of England and has quite a reputation that it is even trying to outrun. It has a very impressive cultural heritage, is known for its football and then there are of course The Beatles. Liverpool loves The Beatles not because it is living in the past, but because it is crazy if you just don’t love The Beatles. So if you are a music lover, and especially a Beatles fan then you should go to Liverpool.
From Manchester it will take 40 to 60 minutes by train to get to Liverpool. Once you arrived, take your time to walk around the city, go to Liverpool One for shopping and find your way to the main attraction of the city: Albert Dock.
Albert Dock & The Beatles
Albert Dock is Liverpool’s biggest tourist attraction and it is a World Heritage Site. You will find several museums here, an extension of London’s Tate Gallery and a couple of outstanding restaurants and bars. But the most popular museum that you will find at Albert Dock is a museum that pays tribute to the famous four: The Beatles Story.
The Beatles Story
This museum focuses purely on the most famous foursome of the world and only highlights positive corners in their turbulent history. It is a place to keep every Beatles fan happy. The price for adults is 14.96 pound but check out the discounts on the site.
Explore the complete history: from the beginning when they met as boys, their struggle to find a record company that would help them grow famous and their worldwide influence on girls and boys, which is also called Beatlemania. Find out about the important people that surrounded the Beatles, listen to personal fragments, listen to their music and discover much more about this famous band.
Matthew Street & Tour
Are you still longing to know and see more about the Beatles? Then you should definitely go to Matthew Street. This tiny street is the site of the original Cavern Club. You can also book a Magical Mystery Tour that will bring you to all the important landmarks and places such as Penny Lane and Strawberry Field. Talking about a Beatles overdose!
More than The Beatles
Are you not that big of a Beatles fan or do you want to see what Liverpool has to offer besides the famous four? Don’t worry, there is still plenty to do. As I am a great Beatles fan, I could not wait to see all the important places of the Beatles in Liverpool as well as The Beatles Story. This was my number one priority to see in Liverpool so I did not really visit other museum or highlights of the city. But there is so much more to see here. Go to the Museum of Liverpool, stroll around the Harbour and Albert Dock, Shop at Liverpool One (a very big shopping mall), visit the International Slavery Museum or the Merseyside Maritime Museum.
