Enter the world of luxurious hotels and go to the Waldorf Astoria Hotel for a delicious Afternoon High Tea.
A lot of people forget that you don’t actually have to stay in a luxurious hotel to enjoy the beauty and quality of the hotel and its services. In most hotels there is a lounge, a bar or a restaurant that is free to access even when you are not staying at the hotel. One thing that you can also do in most fancy hotels is an Afternoon High Tea.
A Fancy High Tea
The afternoon high tea is a perfect way to celebrate a special occasion. Last week I graduated and now I can officially call myself Dominique van Steijn MSc (in Business Administration – International Management). Sounds quite fancy if I may say. Well, I worked hard for it so it was time for some celebration. That’s why I decided to enjoy a very appetizing and mouth-watering afternoon high tea at the chic Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Amsterdam.
You will enjoy the high tea in the elegant Peacock Alley, the lounge of the hotel. Executive Chef Sidney Schutte leads this delicious afternoon, which is daily between 3 pm (15.00) and 5 pm (17.00) and has a starting price of 42,50 euros.
You can choose if you want to upgrade your high-tea with a fancy glass of champagne (which I recommend of course) and then it starts. The high tea has two courses. You start with an amuse (shrimp cocktail in a golden egg) and, having finished it, you will get two courses consisting of savoury and sweet snacks served at the same time. You get two sorts of tea, which are selected based on the type of food you have (savoury or sweet). Every bite is so delicious, that I can highly recommend this afternoon high tea if you want to celebrate a special occasion (or just want to have a fancy afternoon with friends).
